       BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW THIS,

DIDN'T YOU?

You've tried and tried but you always end up feeling out of control. So, how do we truly get to the root of these destructive, hurtful behaviors? We must address the feelings of shame & guilt, and balance our mind, body & spirit.

"If you're unbalanced, counseling and mindfulness will be useful tools, but Yoga can also mesh perfectly alongside any treatment plan. Yoga is all about developing a mind-body connection. We learn how to breathe and how to send energy to different parts of the body." - Tina Williamson on Mind Body Green

EMOTIONAL EATING QUICK VISUALIZATION:

OUT WITH THE OLD

IN WITH THE NEW!

Imagine becoming physically, mentally and spiritually in tuned with your soul. Breathe in slowly and exhale all of your anxieties and fears. Don’t think about where you want to go, instead think about a place that allows you to experience peace in all aspects of your body.

As you reflect on that place, imagine the scenery and people. Do not think about your body or clothes. Sit and relax in this place and enjoy the view.

Take a final breath and allow yourself to come back to reality.

How do you feel?

Do you feel peaceful and joyful?

If you haven’t reached that state yet, you will have plenty of time to relax and tune into yourself when you join White Crow Yoga’s Retreat for Emotional Eaters. White Crow Yoga is committed to offering a fun, educational and non-judgmental environment where you can connect to your mind, body and spirit.

TESTIMONIALS

The whole experience was a dream; the people, the venue, the food. From the time we were greeted at the airport to the time we left to fly home, our every need and desires were fulfilled. The workshops really help you achieve your personal goals. I highly recommend this relaxing yoga retreat.- Gudrun Hallows, Yogacation 15’

"I met such wonderful people - the food, the relaxed atmosphere, the family, the yoga, the personal growth, the nature! .. I loved it all." - Susan Yount, Yogacation 15’

"I honestly loved it all....the hammock was one of my favorite parts.  I also liked the free time so we could enjoy and just relax. I thought the pick up at the airport and taking us to was above and beyond.  All they did took so much of the traveling concerns away." - Gayle Anderson, Yogacation 15’

"You can feel the sacredness of this place even before you reach the last turn into the campus – I only spent a days there and I feel that I am forever changed because of the short interactions I had with the dedicated people there – being at the LOTUS (Light of Truth Universal Shrine) and also looking down on it from the high hill above it gave me an incredible sense of connection with the Divine. I highly recommend this place to anyone of any faith." - Laura Baker-Anderle, Yogaville Guest

faq

F.A.Q.

Will we learn about diet & exercise?

Yoga for Emotional Eating is not about burning calories, eating less or exercising more. Everyone who struggles with weight loss has probably read hundreds of hours of material on these topics, and for many of us, these plans don’t work. That’s because most of these plans don’t address the mind/body connection. Our physical, emotional and spiritual selves are intertwined. We can’t ignore the white elephant in the room that is the emotional root of our overeating. Our Yoga for Weight Loss plan is about using the Eight Limbs of Yoga and exploring the Chakra system to help students find yogic tools to end their struggles with food and body image. It is about creating a support system and using journaling, breath work, meditation and other proven techniques for creating a more peaceful life, which, in turn, creates a happy, well balanced, positive person who isn’t tangled up in a daily struggle with food

How was this retreat created?

Our Emotional Eating Yoga retreat was inspired by our Yoga for Weight Loss workshop. The weight loss workshop was initially created for emotional overeaters, but we named it “Yoga for Weight Loss” instead of “Yoga for Emotional Overeaters” because we felt students might not want to consider themselves “emotional overeaters” or think that they could possibly have a binge eating or emotional eating issue. Our thought process was that we’d call the workshop whatever we had to call it to get students in the door so that we could share these powerful practices and yogic tools to help them overcome emotional overeating. However, we are calling this retreat by exactly what it is – a retreat to address emotional eating issues. Food can feel very comforting to us, and that may be ok, unless it becomes all-consuming or too frequent, leads to guilt or shame, leads to an unhealthy weight or health problems, makes us feel sluggish or less than our best, or in any way leads to negativity. If that’s the case, we need to learn to use the the tools we have been given to make better choices. Join us to delve into a spiritual journey and learn to use our yogic tools to overcome the desire to use food as a crutch.

Who can benefit from this retreat?

It doesn’t matter if you are a yoga teacher, yoga student, corporate professional, health care professional, student, homemaker, or retiree; we welcome you! You do not need any special skills or yoga experience to join us. There is no judgment, and you won’t be asked to do anything you are not comfortable with, including yoga asanas (postures). All postures can be modified to fit your body and current level of health, wellness and fitness. If you feel this retreat would benefit you, if you are suffering from emotional eating, overeating, binge eating, or body image issues, please know that you are welcome exactly as you are today.

Will I really fit in at an emotional eating yoga retreat?

There are no expectations or judgments. This is especially true for yoga teachers or health and wellness practitioners. Sometimes, we might feel embarrassed to admit that we are struggling. We think that others might judge us if we need help. Our ego tells us, “How can I be a good (fill in the blank – yoga teacher, nurse, etc) if I am struggling with emotional overeating issues? Please know that is not true – that’s just our ego talking, trying to shame us! We are teachers and care-givers, but we are also human, and we struggle like everyone else. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and say, “Yes, I am using food as a crutch right now; I am suffering from emotional overeating and I need to recharge and refresh” and come join us with no judgements, ever! We are always growing and learning together.
